THE CONTORTIONIST Announces New Singer

June 21, 2013

Indiana progressive metallers THE CONTORTIONIST have recruited Mike Lessard of LAST CHANCE TO REASON as their new vocalist, replacing Jonathan Carpenter who exited the band earlier this year.

"We're very excited about this announcement," says THE CONTORTIONIST guitarist Robby Bacca. "The run of dates we did with him as a fill-in were a much needed breath of fresh air. He brings to the table all kinds of new dynamics that will help fuel the progression of the band's sound onto the next record and onward.".

Adds Lessard: "I've been a friend and a fan of the band for a long time, so these are exciting times. I can't wait to hit the road and the studio with these talented gentlemen. I believe this to be the start of a beautiful experience."

LAST CHANCE TO REASON will scaling back its own activity but will tour this summer with THE CONTORTIRIONIST's very own Bacca on guitar.

THE CONTORTIONIST has announced new tour dates supporting BETWEEN THE BURIED AND ME this fall. Dates stretch coast to coast, kicking off in Winston Salem, North Carolina on September 13 and wrapping up more than a month later in Nashville, Tennessee.

THE CONTORTIONIST's latest album, "Intrinsic", sold 3,600 copies in the United States in its first week of release to land at position No. 125 on The Billboard 200 chart. Released on July 17, 2012 via eOne/Good Fight Music, the CD was produced and recorded by Eyal Levi (DAATH, JOB FOR A COWBOY) and Jason Suecof (TRIVIUM, DEVILDRIVER) at Audiohammer Studios in Sanford, Florida.
